H2Operator Caribbean - the CAWASA Podcast

posted on

The Caribbean Water and Sewerage Association (CAWASA), being a regional organisation of water utilities in the Caribbean, strives to bring together experts and practicioners of the water sector in the region and beyond. In its dedication to serving the growth and development of its members, CAWASA collects and disseminates knowledge and experiences through different channels. In this effort, a new means of knowledge distribution has been launched recently: the H2Operator Caribbean Podcast.

This new format sources information from various experts active in the water sector, their views and experiences on crucial aspects such as Non-Revenue Water and operation of water utilities in the light of climate change. The CATS Programme is proud that Mr. Ignatius Jean, Director of CAWASA and initiator of the podcast, captures the ongoing Regional Training on the Demand and Distribution of Water in three episodes of the podcast.

In the first episode he interviews Mr. Mandille Alcee, trainee manager in WASCO Saint Lucia, on the NRW-related activities within WASCO. In the second episode, Mr. Karim Thompson, distribution supervisor at the Belize Water Services (BWS), provided his perspective on the NRW-related activities in Belize and the ongoing training. The third episode captures Cornelius "Kees" de Jong, head of the international department in CONSULAQUA Hamburg and one of the key experts in the ongoing consultancy project on Institutional and Organisational Strengthening of WASCO and Regional Water Utilities. He gave an overview about the training activity that was conducted in Saint Lucia from July 1st to 4th.

The podcast is available online and free-to-listen. It can be found on platforms such as Anchor.fm and Spotify.
